two-car garage

Hubby and I have owned our home with a two-car garage since Feb '97. Last night is the first time there have been two cars parked in there at the same time!!

Hubby worked from 8am until about 11:30 pm (with breaks) and cleared that room from floor to ceiling with his hoarded stuff, duplicate tools, unfinished (unfinishable) projects, and "junque". It is absolutely freeing to declutter!!

I've been very patient with him about his area, because he has always made sure that I can park in the garage - especially during the winter months - so that the children and I have comfort in getting in and out. He's never been ready to let go of his own stuff, though. Until he got back home from his mothers house.

Today he was telling me how great it felt to have that space cleared out and all that junk gone. He told me how he noticed that his mother and step-dad are collectors and hoarders and he knows why he's like that, too. But this is the first time he's ever talked about it!! He really wants to get past this, and he knows that it is merely a symptom of a bigger heap of dung, but he's not ready to stir that one up quite yet.

I cleared out some of my unfinished projects today, too, and that felt GREAT!! I almost don't know what to do . . . and then I look at Mount Washmore in the laundry room (again.) MAN I have to really keep on top of that every day with the six of us, or it gets out of control.

Special note to Ms. Goofball Deluxe:
hubby had me "train" him on NetObjects Fusion today and we are buying the real thing tonight!! So funny! Mr. Dreamweaver! heehee.

Also, I talked to my first potential website customer today and we looked at some other folks websites to give him ideas. I sent him home with homework to do: create an outline, decided what to start with, call and get ownership of his domain put into his name. We'll talk again next week.

I'm scheduled for an interview tomorrow morning at 10am, but I'm calling at 8am to double check if it is a sales job that is to sell to individuals or is it business-to-business. I don't want to sell insurance to individuals, but selling benefits packages to companies might be FUN!

The kids all went with us to Wally-world tonight to get flourescent lightbulbs and on the way home we talked and experimented with the fine art of Pig Latin!! We all got the giggles, and 7.5yo dd GOT it! She figured out how to speak it and practiced all the way home! Ityay asway anyay astblay! (it was a blast!)

oodgay ightnay!
